Crown Lengthening

A procedure that intends to make a tooth appear longer is called crown lengthening. The procedure involves removing the gum and bone tissue in order to prepare the tooth for restoring or enhancing. The procedure is usually done under a local anesthetic. The patient’s gum will be numbed and incisions will be made around the tooth or teeth that require crown lengthening. The extra gum tissue will be cut away from the tooth. This is done to make the bone that support the tooth exposed. The gum tissue is peeled back and the new gum is reshaped to have a new look. Using laser for this procedure will allow the patient to experience a comfortable treatment. The procedure will be more effective which will require less time for healing and recovery. Risks and complications will be minimal for laser crown lengthening procedure.
