They are mainly used for tooth decay, gum disease, teeth whitening, biopsy or lesion removal etc. Lasers work using energy from the special light used. Laser dentistry is being preferred by most people because of the following reasons:
- They cause less pain
- Do not always require anaesthesia
- Minimize bleeding and swelling
- Minimal post-operative care is required
